Yes, if it's on the Schedule. If you are flying in that airlines area and you charter a flight it still needs to flown in UNITED colors.

Correct. Only time you can use other airline colors are if its on our schedule, or if it has a realworld UA callsign attached.

You see that as an SAS flight but has a UAL callsign on it, that would fall under the policy of its not in the schedule by error, so using charter option only to fly a scheduled flight.

So, flying Blue1 in place of SAS would be acceptable? I don't want flights to be rejected for misunderstanding.

I'm not sure where the confusion is. Using Smartcars is not an advised Acars for chartering flights. It heavily restricts inputs. Kcars allows full autonomy when chartering flights. Adding flight numbers, changing equipment and imputing destinations/departures.

Your pirep will be rejected if you fly an airline that is not listed on the Star Alliance website or a carrier that lies within the schedule timetable of available airlines. Rouge is acceptable as it lies in our system. If you fly per say Jet Air, Air Lingus, or the low cost carriers of more foreign carriers that are not represented by the Star Alliance.

These are current code shares UAL operates. Please reference this list for other airline discrepancies.

Ariel,

No you don't need to charter. If you include the link the FlightAware link to the flight in your comments section of your PIREP and all should be good!

I'm fine with the flights not being in the schedules, but Aer Lingus should really be added as an approved codeshare carrier. While not all of their flights are codeshares with United (BDL->DUB being a notable one), there are others that are (EI108/UA7628 and UA1256/EI6090 being two examples). To be completely honest, any of the airlines here should be an option as long as we can provide proof that the flight we fly carried a United flight number.

Some of the verbiage/editing is confusing; is the following accurate?

vUAL pilots may fly real world flights in the liveries of these UAL codeshare partners; flying in any other livery could result in a PIREP being rejected. Please include a link to the FlightAware record of the real world flight in your PIREP comments.

(in alphabetical order)
Aegean Air
Air Canada, including Air Canada Express/JAZZ and Air Canada Rouge
Air China
Air New Zealand
ANA-All Nippon
Asiana
Austrian
AVIANCA
Brussels Airlines
Copa Airlines
Croatia Airlines
Egypt Air
EVA Air
LOT-Polish Airlines
Lufthansa Airlines
SAS - Scandinavian Airlines
South African Airways
Swiss
TACA
TAP-Air Portugal
Turkish Airlines

Any flight designated as a charter flight in a vUAL ACARS program must be flown in UAL livery.
